FAQ

Questions we get.

If yours is not answered here, call or text and ask. No one will try to book you on the phone.

How much does pool deck resurfacing cost?

Price depends on square footage, the condition of the existing slab, and how much crack repair and patching is needed first. Send photos and an approximate square footage and we will give you a number. We do not charge for estimates and we do not use high-pressure quoting.

How long does it take?

Most residential pool decks take two to three days from start to finish. Day one is cleaning, prep, and crack repair. Coating and sealing follow, with cure time between coats. Larger or badly damaged slabs that need significant patching can run longer. We give you a realistic schedule before we start rather than an optimistic one.

How much cooler does it actually get?

The manufacturer's testing shows a reduction of up to 38 percent versus bare concrete on in-ground slabs. The real number on your deck depends heavily on the color you choose, since lighter colors reflect more heat. We will show you a side by side reading on your own slab if you want one.

Can you coat over my existing Kool Deck or knockdown topping?

Usually yes, as long as the existing topping is still bonded to the slab and not delaminating. If sections are lifting or hollow, those areas have to be removed and patched first. We check for this during the estimate.

Will it be slippery when wet?

No. The finish is textured specifically for slip resistance around water, while staying comfortable enough to walk on barefoot. That combination is the main reason the system exists.

What colors can I get?

The coating is tinted with a compatible exterior color, so the range is effectively any color your paint store can mix. Most homeowners choose a light neutral, both because it stays coolest and because it works with more landscaping and furniture over time.

Does it work on things other than pool decks?

Yes. Patios, covered porches, walkways, entry steps, sidewalks, and commercial or HOA amenity decks are all normal jobs for us. Any concrete surface that runs hot or gets slick is a candidate.

When can you do the work?

The coating needs appropriate temperatures to cure, so the Indiana season runs roughly May through September. Booking in late winter or early spring gets you the widest choice of dates.

How long does it last?

That depends on sun exposure, traffic, and how the surface is maintained. Ask us for the current manufacturer product warranty document and we will send it, along with what we warrant on our own labor. We keep those two things separate so you know exactly who stands behind what.

Are you insured?

Yes. We carry general liability coverage and can send a certificate of insurance before we start work. HOAs and property managers usually want this on file, and we are used to providing it.
